Vulnerable Software Fixed
We use the software Dentrix in our office to help manage patient records and manage some of the office functions. You may have heard that there was a vulnerability in this software. We have upgraded to the latest versions of the software, fixing vulnerabilities and making sure that your patient data is secure — and always remains secure.
Vulnerabilities in dental software are unfortunately common, but if a dental practice is aware of the threat and works to fix it, these vulnerabilities can be repaired to ensure your data is safe. No matter who your dentist is, you should talk to them about data security.
Avoiding Human Error
Although software vulnerabilities make big headlines, the truth is that most security breaches are actually caused by human error, which account for about 75% of all security breaches. We take all prudent steps to ensure that people in our office don’t inadvertently cause data breaches.
One important step is making sure we have the best personnel in our office, people who are trustworthy and invested in the practice and in our patients.
At Top Down Dental, we create an environment that fosters trustworthy relations and reduces turnover. The people in our practice have been working here for a minimum of 7 years, and some have been with us 20 or 30 years. We invite you to get to know them on our team page.
As much as we make sure our software is up-to-date, we do the same with our people and our training. We make sure everyone has been trained in the latest best practices in every aspect of dentistry, including how to manage your data safely.
